So here's a question for everybody here

Does the opening/ending song have any effect on how you view an anime series?

No. Most anime OP and EDs are crappy J-Pop, so I just ignore/skip it. I don't expect anything otherwise.

I know what you mean but maybe not so much related to the songs but the also the animation. For example, I recently watched the Last Exile opening on youtube and it made me watch the series.

It doesn't effect whether or not I'll watch any given anime series because at the end of the day, the OP/ED song doesn't necessarily say anything at all about what the anime is about or how good it is, either in terms of objective quality or personal taste. Obviously it's always great when an OP or ED to a series does click with me though, because then I'm probably bound to think more fondly of that series assuming I like it already. I think FMA: Brotherhood is a good example of that for me - I already love the series (and would love it even if I hated the OP/ED music), but having several OPs/EDs that I like on top of that makes the whole thing just that much more awesome.

Nope, not really. i listen to many OP/EDs of series that I don't watch (such as Gundam SEED) and even if I dislike the OP/ED I skip them after watching the first episode

I think it does effect the series. Somehow i judge really quick- even though your not supposed to. And a good opening song always strikes a cord. I remember watching Hitman Reborn and the first 20 episode...the first boring 20 episodes were so terrible. But the opening song was so good that I just thought "ah, it'll get better!" I did like drawing day sXD

but, I think a opening song effects how the series will go and gives people a first glance. Sometimes it really doesn't matter. but...eh. I like the opening/endings

Not really, but if the OP or ED is plain out awesome, I'd probably like the anime slightly more.

Examples is the OP of X'amd Lost Memories "shut up and explode"

and more recently, Rainbow's OP theme which is just simply amazing <3 :

Rainbow has the most AMAZING theme- I thought it would be really hardcore and...ugh, but it was so good D: no words. Good example!

Definitely! It's probably going to be the best this year ~
